Hi, I am Christie!

I am a wife and mother of two sweet little girls. After 6 years of being a hair stylist + 2.5 years of being a church administrative assistant, I left my “real” job to stay at home with my favorite job… my 7 month old baby girl. I took the photography I had been doing on the side and let it grow into photographing things I loved: family, love, and babies!

My passion for birth began with attending births as a photographer. I wanted to be able to play a more active role in the support of women during pregnancy and birth. I enrolled in a doula certification program and weeks later, found out I was pregnant with my second baby and all that went on pause. Having a night and day pregnancy experience from my first to my second, my eyes were opened to a whole new realm of struggles women face during pregnancy that I had not faced before. I did not have a doula for the birth of my first, but soon after I was hit with the ton of bricks that my second pregnancy was, I hired a doula to help support me. My husband and I would both say that having our doula with us through the end of pregnancy and for our birth experience was a game changer. For me, it relit the fire in me to support women in their birth stories.

Several months after I had my second baby, I restarted my certification program and am now a Certified Birth Doula and hope to continue my education into postpartum and breastfeeding support as well. I joined the Community Doula Collective and am so thankful for the support and mentorship I have received through them.

I have been attending births as a birth doula since April 2021 and have attended a large variety of births ranging from a 7 minute birth center birth to a 34 hour medical induction and lots in between.

I have personal experience with medical induction, vaginal birth, blood sugar management, high risk pregnancy, pubic symphysis dysfunction, prenatal anxiety and depression, food sensitivities in prenatal nutrition, autoimmune conditions, dysphoric milk ejection reflex, exclusive breastfeeding, breastfeeding/pumping combo, infant oral ties, high risk care providers and testing, midwifery lead care, and soooo much more!

I am HONORED to be considered as a potential for your pregnancy, birth and postpartum support. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me!
